These pictures were taken 3 hours apart. On the left, my stomach is pushing out to the end of my chest, no defined ab lines and my love handles are more obvious. On the right, my stomach is nearly flat from the top of my abdomen to the bottom, I have more ab definition and my love handles aren't as obvious.
People (especially us girls) always try to figure out a way to stop bloating, but the reality is....IT'S NATURAL! However, before you lose all hope of your dream of having a flat stomach, I have some tips and tricks up my sleeve.
First, lets start with why bloating is caused in the first place:
1. Simply because our body is digesting the food we eat! We need food to survive!
2. Sometimes the severity of our bloating will be determined by WHAT is in our food. (Example: salt content)
3. Overeating and no portion control
4. Eat too fast! This will also help with over eating as satiety signals take roughly 20 minutes to reach the brain.
With all this being said, there are those who suffer from gut and inflammatory problems, but for the most part, it can be fixed by our habits and food choices. If you suffer from bloating, take a look at a few things:
1. Your dairy consumption as it's not very easily digested for most people.
2. Fibre content (keep things flowing)
3. Refined sugars
4. DRINK, YOUR. WATER. I personally drink about one gallon or more a day.
There are so many factors that go into bloating and I am no expert, but hopefully this helps someone jump start finding out how to better manage their bloating!
