Tracking your progress is an essential part of any fitness journey, but knowing how to do it effectively can be a challenge, especially when you feel like you aren't making progress! If you're like me, you know that starting a fitness journey can be exciting, but it can also be challenging at times. That's why it's so important to track your progress along the way. Whether you're trying to lose weight, build muscle, or improve your endurance, tracking your progress can help you stay motivated, accountable, and focused on your goals. In this post, I'm going to share some tips on how to track your progress effectively, so you can crush your fitness goals and become the best version of yourself :)

IS IT REALLY THAT IMPORTANT?
Yes Susan, yes. The thrill of setting goals, the excitement of a new workout routine, and the satisfaction of feeling stronger and healthier are all part of the journey. But let's face it, sometimes it can be tough to stay motivated and on track towards our goals. That's why I'm here to talk to you about the importance of tracking your progress in a fitness journey. From accountability to motivation, there are so many benefits to tracking your progress. So, if you're ready to take your fitness journey to the next level, let's goooo!!!!
Heading #3: Set realistic goals
It helps you stay motivated!
Tracking your progress can also be incredibly motivating! Seeing progress, no matter how small, can give you a sense of accomplishment and motivate you to continue working towards your goals. I makes me feel more proud of myself and what I have accomplished, even when I think I haven't been doing good. On the other hand, if you're not seeing progress, tracking your progress can help you identify areas that need improvement and make adjustments to your routine or diet to ensure that you're on the right track.
Identify where you need to improve
Tracking your progress allows you to identify areas that need improvement. For example, if you're trying to lose weight and you're not seeing progress on the scale, tracking your progress through body measurements or progress photos can help you see changes in your body composition that may not be reflected on the scale. This has happened to me MULTIPLE TIMES in my fitness journey! However, this can help you adjust your diet or workout routine to ensure that you're making progress towards your goals.
It helps you set realistic goals
Sometimes we have an idea in our mind as to how long it will take to achieve a goal. Without knowing, sometimes we can be waaaayyyyy off. Tracking your progress can help you stay on track towards your goals and give you a realistic time frame! By identifying areas that need improvement and making adjustments to your routine or diet, you can ensure that you're making progress towards your goals. Additionally, tracking your progress can help you stay consistent with your workouts and diet, which is crucial for achieving your goals.
It holds you accountable
One of the most significant benefits of tracking your progress is accountability! If you have EVER heard me speak about accountability, you know that I believe every coach needs a coach. Simply put, is because of accountability. If we feel no one is watching up and keeping track, it makes it easier for us to slip up. When you track your progress, you're holding yourself accountable for your actions. It's easy to make excuses when you're not seeing progress, but tracking your progress ensures that you're aware of any setbacks or areas that need improvement. Additionally, tracking your progress helps you stay consistent with your workouts and diet, which is crucial for achieving your goals.
LET'S RECAP!
So now you know, tracking your progress is an essential part of a successful fitness journey! It allows you to hold yourself accountable, stay motivated, identify areas that need improvement, track your successes, and stay on track towards your goals. Whether you choose to seek guidance through a fitness professional (like me), use a fitness app, keep a workout log, take progress photos, track body measurements, or keep a journal, tracking your progress is crucial for achieving your fitness goals. Remember, progress takes time, but with consistency and dedication, you'll get there!
